Cat Adoption Application

The CWDF occasionally places  homeless cats and kittens into safe and loving homes for their lifetime. To enable us to fulfill this goal, we ask that you provide us with information regarding their potential home. Your answers may be our assurance that our cats will live in good, permanent homes. Please do not try to anticipate what sort of answers are “correct” since some questions may have more than one answer. Some questions are asked purely to give us a profile of our adopters, or to help us troubleshoot areas we may be able to provide some helpful information and tips. All information is kept strictly confidential. Thank you!

Please take the time to enter all fields accurately and provide as much detail as possible.
This helps us match you with the right cat. Thank you!

If you are adopting a cat through another rescue organization, your application will be automatically forwarded to them. Please follow up with them if you do not receive a response within 48 hours. Thanks!

    About You

    Housing

Renters will be required to provide proof, either with a copy of a lease stating pets are permitted, or a signed authorization from the property owner.

    Lifestyle

Life happens. We ask this question so we may provide you with tips and guidance on how to avoid this kind of situation in the future.
The study of pet nutrition has had some major advances in just the last few years. Time to turn over the bag and read the label - is the first ingredient a filler like corn? or a low quality protein like a meat by-product or meal? Look for preservative-free foods with whole protein as the first ingredient ("chicken" instead of "chicken meal/by-product"), and check out grain-free options, as they tend to be higher quality and more nutrient-dense.

    Training & Behavior Knowledge

This section helps us determine your training experience, and show any areas where we may be able to offer advice or assistance. Please do not worry about providing a "wrong" answer. Answer honestly, and don't be afraid to write "I don't know" when applicable. We are happy to assist new owners with behavior and training! Please read each question carefully and be detailed in your answer.

"oh my gosh, these guys are crazy. that was exhausting! wake me when its over."
why god whyyyyyy!? our adoption donation helps cover the costs of spaying/neutering (generally between $150-250), vaccines ($50 and up), micro-chipping ($35), vet exam ($60 and up), and a variety of other expenses like transport, de-worming, food, equipment, boarding when looking for foster homes, etc. your adoption donation may also go towards those dogs and cats which require more serious treatment like surgeries or specialist doctors, or transport from high-kill shelters, etc. we thank you in advance for adopting!

I have read the above information carefully and have filled out this application honestly.  I understand that omission of information and/or failure to answer all questions and sign the application can result in this application being declined.  I understand the adoption decision is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to the compatibility of the family and home to the individual animal, and other applications received on this animal.

Please allow 48 hours for a response from an adoption coordinator to schedule your phone interview and introduction to the cat.
Approved adopters will be required to sign an Adoption Contract and pay an adoption fee at the time of adoption.
